More About Emma

Emma has a particular interest in child psychology, specifically when working with children facing behavioral challenges stemming from unclear, complex, or multiple causes. She specializes in comprehensive psychological assessment and intervention, particularly where differential diagnosis is necessary — especially for children who have experienced trauma or neglect and may present with anxiety, hyperactivity, oppositional behavior, or obsessive concerns.

She also welcomes referrals for children in Out of Home Care where it may be unclear whether the child's difficulties are related to developmental or behavioral conditions (such as ADHD, ODD, or Autism Spectrum Disorder), trauma, or a combination of both.

Emma completed a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma through the Australian Childhood Foundation in 2016, further strengthening her expertise in addressing these issues.

As a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor, Emma supports psychologists in training at all stages, including those completing higher degrees or seeking Clinical endorsement. She also enjoys contributing to the next generation of practitioners through casual lecturing to Masters and PhD students at the University of Newcastle.
