Family Friendly Child Psychology Services
The Jacaranda Centre is a Psychology Practice focusing on supporting children, adolescents and their families across a range of presenting challenges.
We offer assessments for most aspects of childhood, including behavioural difficulties, developmental delays, autism, learning difficulties and IQ/cognitive testing.
Group programs for children and parents are offered from time to time in our cosy and comfortable purpose built space.
At The Jacaranda Centre we respect the value of each and every child, and delight in the differences that each child brings – even the challenging ones!

Intervention & Counselling
We love seeing children grow and thrive in every area of their development and relationships. We offer evidence based therapeutic interventions for children and their parents from 4-18 years.
Assessments
Assessment is an important step to better understand your child’s difficulties and behaviours, and more importantly to plan suitable interventions to help them maximise their potential.
Education
Education and knowledge is important to us at The Jacaranda Centre and we strive to build, share and extend our knowledge with both parents and professionals.
Our digital resources, as well as our online and in-person training groups and seminars, aim to empower parents while also collaborating and building strategic relationships with other professionals in order to offer a more holistic approach to our clients and families.

How can a Psychologist help us?
We understand and support a broad range of biological, social, and psychological factors that contribute to childhood challenges and we apply this knowledge to skilfully determine the likely cause of your child’s presentation.
We use this information to:
- Develop a treatment plan – including supporting the parents/caregivers at home
- Collaborate with other therapists
- Provide reports to help others understand how to best support your child (school, doctors etc.)
- Reports for accessing funding, such as NDIS
What we do to support your child:
- Increase understanding for the child, their family and/or broader systems (such as schools or allied health professionals)
- Apply therapeutic strategies to improve the thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships of the child and family
- Implement frameworks to increase the capacity of young people to engage with their world
- Develop personalised resources to support the therapeutic goals
- Work with the child and/or key people in their life to enhance their relationships
Psychologists work with children and their families to create positive change.
